After five years of leading the national education organization, KnowledgeWorks CEO Judy Peppler announced she will retire at the end of June.

“I couldn’t be prouder of all that we have accomplished together and know that I leave the organization in great hands,” said Peppler. “We have built a strong, integrated KnowledgeWorks team that is transforming classroom and community experiences to better meet the needs of all students. It is because of the strength of this team, my confidence in the strategy we are pursuing and our Board’s commitment to continuing this important work that I will be able to step away knowing that the organization is in a strong position to make the difference in the education system nationally that we all desire.”

Under Peppler’s leadership, KnowledgeWorks strengthened its position as a national thought leader in personalized learning. Over the past five years, KnowledgeWorks has advanced personalized, competency-based learning in districts across the nation through an integrated focus on exploring the future of learning, growing educator capacity and impact, working with state and federal policymakers, and helping schools and communities to grow a system-wide approach to sustain student-centered practices.

“We are thankful for Judy’s transformational leadership and vision over the past five years,” said KnowledgeWorks Board Chairman, Steven Minter. “Our Board of Directors fully supports the vision, strategy and direction defined by Judy and her team and we look forward to continuing that work to improve the learning experience for students across our nation.”

The KnowledgeWorks Board of Directors has formed a search committee and will be hiring a search firm to conduct a national search for Peppler’s successor.
